We write fiction and love reading literature. We want to talk with others who are on the fiction writing path about literature. We read excellent fiction, discuss it from a craft perspective, and practice writing pastiches based on those readings. We love the chance to share our pastiches with each other. Consider this a kind of graduate level literary fiction reading/writing/workshop. I am open to location/dates/times/number of times/number of members with the following caveats: If we are going …
Meet other local writers and offer one another feedback in a relaxed environment. Members bring at least one hard copy of their work in completed first drafts of stories (both fictional and non-fictional and everything in between). Someone in the group (not the writer) will read the story aloud. Stories should be no longer than about 2,000 words (about 8 pages) and can be as short as a fraction of a page as long as it feels complete. The workshop will meet for two hours, approximately. There is …

We're currently a small group, but interested in expanding in both numbers and styles. We read and critique each other's work, whether it's fiction, poetry, autobiography or something...completely different. Your submission can be any size and as explicit as you'd like. As the head of the group, I can proudly say that I've completed a novel, including heavy revisions, and very nearly have an agent! So any help you'd like on that front can also be offered. I should have added this part sooner, so …

Are you committed to writing? We are looking for serious wordsmiths to join our critique group located in Montgomery County, Maryland. We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 7pm in Olney, MD, at the Harris Teeter. Our meetings are about two hours in length. Come meet other local writers to exchange ideas, knowledge, support, and let the creative energy flow! This group is designed to provide support for your creative project, and a chance to give support to others. We are a serious group (but fun), and welcome both fiction and non-fiction writers. Let's create a great writer's community!
I just got back from an amazing year in Edinburgh, Scotland. While there, I was a member of a creative writing group where I met some fantastic writers. I want to start a similar group in the DC area because I know we have many great writers in the area as well. So here we are. The group brings together writers of all ages and from all walks of life. Whether you are a new writer or have published, all are welcome. If writing is your life, search for a group no longer. The format will be writer …

We meet every Wednesday at 7pm in a room at Washington-Lee High School in Arlington. Meetings generally last about 2 hours and are either sessions designed to provide feedback on members' work, or a workshop session aimed at a specific element of writing. Check the Calenda …
Learn how to access your imagination for: creativity, inner exploration, better decision making, mystery, beauty, understanding your dreams, building inner resources (i.e. confidence), and more. We will use both short imagination explorations and longer visionary journeys. Your guide is Gary Goodwin. He is certified in Interactive Guided Imagery, is a Level 1 Guided Imagery and Music guide, and has extensive training in archetypes, dream work, and working with subpersonalities.
Have you always thought about writing a book, screenplay, blog, anything? If so, then join us as we meet up in locations around the Loudoun County area and put our creative juices to good use! The purpose of this group is to create a supportive network of aspiring authors. It's a lonely world out there when you write, and we all know we can be our own worst critic. As a group we can encourage each other to meet our goals as well as help each other when necessary. If you are looking to complete a …
